Our Testimony

My name is Jeremy Schott.  I was saved in early summer of 1997, at the age of seventeen.  After I received Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, I felt God's hand on my life and in August of 1997 I answered the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It was during high school, after answering the call to preach, I felt God calling me to serve at the church and ministry I was saved through.  After graduating from Nelson County Baptist School in 2000, I attended Shawnee Baptist College in Louisville, KY.  While attending Shawnee Baptist College I became the associate pastor at Nelson County Baptist Church in January 2001.  In 2002 God allowed Ashley and I to cross paths through an evangelistic outreach ministry opportunity I had at YMCA day camp program where Ashley was a counselor.  Ashley and I began courting and realized we were God's choice for one another and we got married in December of 2002.  God has blessed and entrusted us with 5 amazing children: Abegayle (16), Melodey & Marybrooke  (15), Rachael (12), and Jared (10). 

I  had the privilege and opportunity to be a part of the many amazing things God did at Nelson County Baptist Church the past 18 years I was on staff as the associate/youth pastor.  We had the privilege to minister to over 8,000 young people with more then 1,000 coming to know Christ as their personal Saviour.  In the fall of 2016 God laid it on my heart to start "Ignite the World Ministries."  Basically, God asked me to do full time what I had already been doing through outreach ministries I had started and been doing.  Ashley and I prayed about what God had asked me to do for the next year, and with each passing day we felt His peace and liberty to start Ignite.  After discussion and counsel with our pastor, we made it official in November of 2017 that we were going full time into this new ministry.  We started deputation in April of 2018 and began booking events full time in the summer of 2019, after my tenure at Nelson County Baptist Church was over.  We are still currently raising our financial support while booking events.  We are looking forward to what God is going to do with our family through Ignite the World Ministries!
